As a development bank, FMO routinely carries out impact studies, in order to assess the value and impact of FMO’s investment in a certain area.
One such evaluation is being carried out by an independent consultant on the impact of FMO’s engagement in the development and the coming online of the biogas project from Lake Kivu in Rwanda. This project is currently under construction and will likely bring energy to 30 village electricity systems.
The following film is the first in a series of three that will visually bring to life the social and economic impact that bringing grid power will have to rural Rwanda. The film focuses on Virginie Maniraguha - restaurant owner; Faustin Ntamunoza - shop owner and Leonard the local school teacher. All have high hopes of the positive impact that grid power will bring.
